The purpose of this study includes establishing the background data of the food waste and compost property in Taipei City, the technologies of anaeration digestion and hog feeding, the decision support system of food waste management and environmental education also considered in this study.The water content of food waste is between 70.35% to 81.57%, C/N ratio is between 11.98 to 21.46. The food waste generated is about 1 kg/household-day. From the results of analyzing the compost from Shan-Zhu-Ku pilot, the temperature is 58~60℃ after 16~20 days in composting process, the pH of compost is between 9.14 to 9.28, water content is between 27.87% to 34.20%, C/N ratio is 26.10 to 27.61.This study suggests that the anaeration digestion is best alternative and landfilling is worst for food waste treatment considering the environmental, economic, social and technological factors. Community composting and the attitude of the business of food waste treatment are also investigated in this study.
